saw backrooms last night and had to recreate the vhs effect from the movie. apparently, they never shot any of the movie on VHS, they emulated it in post because they needed an actual clean plate to do set extensions and what not. which makes sense. i’d quit if i was told to do vfx on vhs footage.
anyway, the plugin used in this video was ntsc-rs. you can download it off github and it is a pretty cool piece of software, NEVER seen anything like it. and it’s open source‼️‼️
